ABOUT ME
Hey, I’m Piret - the mind and hands behind heinvuud.
Making things has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. But the idea for heinvuud truly began to take shape when I started studying craft technologies and design.
That was when I found myself especially drawn to plywood and veneer - materials often overlooked beside solid wood, yet full of character, beauty and possibility. What began as curiosity soon grew into a need to create, experiment and build a creative world of my own.
The name heinvuud represents my family name, brought from the island of Hiiumaa to the mainland by my grandfather. That connection to family, place and nature is still an important part of what I do.
I believe beautiful things don’t always need new materials. Reuse and upcycling are at the heart of heinvuud, and I give new life to as much leftover and reclaimed material as I can - from pieces of plywood and veneer to fallen branches.
Colour is just as essential. I want to show that our homes can be more than white, beige and grey. Colour can bring warmth, energy and joy and make a space feel truly your own.
Every heinvuud piece is made slowly and thoughtfully by hand. No two are quite the same. The material, the surface and the hand of the maker all leave their mark.
I feel incredibly lucky to spend my days creating, learning and sharing what I make with you.
Thank you for choosing thoughtful, handcrafted design ♡
CURRENT WORKS
Every piece is made by hand, mostly from reclaimed plywood. The natural marks, variations and small imperfections of the material are not hidden - they become part of its character. Photos can only give you a glimpse. In person, the layers and depth come alive as light and shadows move across the surface.
Every piece is handmade and one of a kind.
CUSTOM COMMISSIONS
Bring an idea, a photo or simply a feeling. I bring the material, the composition, the colours and the craft.
Together, we shape it into a one-of-a-kind piece, made to feel at home in yours.
